Offseason updates

The Padres have declined to pick up their half of the mutual option on right-handed starter Harang, who was 14-7 last season with a 3.64 ERA in 28 starts.

Harang had a mutual option for $5 million for 2012. The San Diego native said he wanted to pick up his side of the option. He did not reach the innings pitched milestone needed to kick in a $500,000 buyout.
